The evidence
| Player | Disposals | Appearances | Disposals per game |
|---|---|---|---|
| Adam Treloar | 725 | 23 | 31.52 |
| Sam Flanders | 680 | 22 | 30.91 |
| Tom Green | 770 | 25 | 30.80 |
Figures checked on 8 October 2026. Rates are rounded to two decimal places; later source corrections may change a result.
Two answers to two different questions
In the recorded 2024 games, Tom Green accumulated 770 disposals across 25 appearances. Adam Treloar accumulated 725 in 23. Green’s total was 45 higher, yet Treloar’s average was 31.52 compared with Green’s 30.80. The total leaderboard and the average leaderboard therefore identify different leaders.
That is not a contradiction. A total measures accumulated output over the selected games. A per-game average measures output per appearance. The season and statistic can stay fixed while the question changes. Green also had two more appearances in this selection, which matters when reading the accumulated figures.
Reconstructing the comparison
Divide each total by the corresponding appearances: 725 ÷ 23 = 31.5217…, while 770 ÷ 25 = 30.8. The difference in rates is about 0.72 disposals per game. Displaying two decimal places makes the table easier to read; the calculation should retain its full precision.
Sam Flanders illustrates the same distinction. His 680 disposals were fewer than either total, but 680 ÷ 22 = 30.9090…, placing his rate between Treloar and Green. These are selected rows from the qualifying average leaderboard, not a claim that only three players were eligible.
What the ten-game condition contributes
The source average question requires at least ten appearances. That prevents a single high-disposal appearance from competing on the same footing as this qualifying group. It does not make the samples equal: 22, 23 and 25 games still represent different amounts of football.
A different minimum could admit additional players and change a ranking. The results here establish the order under the stated rule only. A useful comparison records the threshold with the number rather than treating it as an invisible default.
What these figures do not settle
Neither ordering establishes who had the better season overall. Disposals do not describe every part of a player’s job, and a per-game figure does not adjust for minutes played, substitute appearances or role. Those questions require additional records and a stated method.
Both source results include finals. They should not be presented as a regular-season-only ranking. Open the linked results to inspect the full selection, then use a consistent finals choice if you build a different comparison.
